15th & Final Race in the Sportsman Division for 2008 was 9/20/08
(5th and last race in the "Race for the Chase" )
Feature 1: We were in 5th place until the car in front of us lost oil all
over the track. We spun in the oil and went into the wall. We had heavy front
end damage and were not able to finish the race.
Feature 2: With a lot of help and hard work we were able to fix the car enough
to do some laps for points. It still wasn't quite enough to win Rookie of the
Year in the points standing. We missed it by 17 points. We still had a great
year and learned a lot!

Feature 1: 6th
Feature 2: 8th - We were in first place with less then 10 laps to go when the
second place car started battling us for the lead. Both of us bumped and banged
back a forth side by side for a couple of very exciting laps. On lap 3, going
into turn 1, we both got loose and rubbed each other. The second place car spun
out and we got a call so we had to go to the back along with the second place
car. It was a great race, even though we came out in 8th instead of 1st.

*The Chase is similar to The Chase in NASCAR, it is where the top 12 cars in
each division go head to head for the rest of the race season for the
championship. There are a total of 18 cars in the sportsman division. To be in
the top 12 our first year after only 10 race nights is awesome!

Senior Honda - Car set up was too loose in the
beginning so we qualified in the F Main. The set up was corrected and we
transferred 5 times, making it to the A Main! Overall finish was 5th in the A
Main. Yah!
Light 160 - Car set up was too loose in the beginning
so we qualified in the E Main. The set up was corrected and we transferred 4
times, making it to the A Main!
Overall finish was 4th in the A Main. Yah!!

Senior Honda - Total of 101 cars in this class. The
outcome wasn't as good as we hoped, but we finished middle of the pack.
Qualified in the K Main (Mains went down to the S Main), finished in the I Main.
Light 160 - Total of 100 cars in this class. The car
was fast but due to rain before qualifying, the track was a little slick. We
finished middle of the pack in this class also. Qualified in the J Main (Mains
went down to the R Main), finished in the J Main.
World Formula - Total of 36 cars in this class.
Considering this was our first time racing in this class, we did pretty good.
Qualified in the D Main (Mains went down to the H Main), finished in the C Main.8/5/07

Light 160 - Day 1 = We qualified in the A MAIN (2nd
fastest- which was under the previous track record). We finished 1st place in
the A-MAIN!! race. Day 2 = They used same qualifying order as Day 1. We
finished 1st place in the A MAIN race again!!!
World Formula - We set a new TRACK RECORD!
There were only 3 cars in this class and we came in 1st on Day 1 & Day 2 in the
A Main races!9/9/07

We only ran 1 class today. The Crew Chief didn't have time to change World
Formula back to Senior Honda. (We are the only World Formula at Elko so we
usually race that when we are on the road and only practice it at Elko.)
